Nadine Marshall was born and raised in the Vale of Glamorgan. A Welsh speaker, Nadine lives with her family in Barry, having 3 children and 1 grandchild.

Before a period working as an educational coordinator across south east Wales, Nadine worked as a lecturer within education and childcare.

Tragic personal circumstances led to Nadine becoming familiar with the justice system and its workings. Following the horrific murder of her eldest son, Conner, Nadine pursued a four-year campaign to challenge and change government policies relating to information sharing, procedural reform and recognition for families affected by murder.

As a direct result of her work, The National Probation Service guidelines were reformed in 2019 giving victims’ families access to information previously withheld. Furthermore, Nadine also secured a robust and accountable working practice and management oversight within the service.

Her passion and commitment to putting the people’s voice at the heart of policing and the criminal justice system is why she is standing to be the next Police and Crime Commissioner for South Wales Police.

Nadine’s aim is to give a voice and support to the often vulnerable within communities; understanding what communities want from a police service in addition to supporting the demanding, varied aspects of policing across South Wales.

Nadine believes partnership working for core police issues is vital for delivery of a quality, modern and relevant service police service across South Wales.

All the best Nadine. We need someone with genuine experience of a broken system, not someone from within the broken system. A new approach is long overdue.
