The people of Wales are greatly underserved as the justice system is not devolved to the Senedd. This has led to a justice system that is disconnected to health, education and social work. This exacerbates existing inequalities and affects the safety and security that we are entitled to.
Devolving justice and policing to Wales would see us receiving an additional £25 million to spend on policing and justice – the equivalent of 900 extra police officers.
Read more on this and six further pledges that our Plaid Cymru Police and Crime Commissioners would implement if elected, in our manifesto below.
- A Fair Funding Formula for Policing in Wales until full devolution
- Better integration and transparency between the police and the community
- A plan to reduce crime and reoffending
- Enhancing Victim Support
- Tackling Hate Crime
- Creating Economic Crime Units
